I got a job!
It is a 3-6 month contract in Boston and starts on February 25th. I plan to come home most weekends, so will not be moving. I’ll probably get a room through Craig’s List. My hope is that the job market in New York picks up in the next few months and I can get something here. But the company I am doing this through seem rather bullish about their prospects for placing me in another role in Boston in 3 months time. We shall see.
There’s an interesting symmetry in this job. It is almost identical to two other jobs I have had. Four years ago in London, I had a contract with Mellon Newton, which is wholly owned by Mellon Bank. Two years ago here in New York, I had a contract at Brown Brothers Harriman, through a company called Starpoint. This contract is at Mellon Bank, through Starpoint.
